About Me
Dr Anna Joyce
BSc MSc PhD CPsychol AFBPsS FHEA (she/her)
I am a Chartered Psychologist and trained Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia Practitioner. I have an academic background in cognitive neuropsychology and have been researching sleep for over 15 years, including in neurodivergent conditions such as Autism and ADHD. I am interested in the impact of sleep problems on cognition, behaviour, and mental health, and how, if we can optimise sleep, we can perform at our best during the day. You can read more about my research here.
I also hold an academic position as an Assistant Professor at Regent's University London, where I research sleep and teach Psychology at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. I am Director of Programmes for Psychology, and lead for Psychology Research Ethics. I use my academic skills to keep up to date with the scientific research to inform my treatment recommendations.
I was trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia by world-leading experts, Professor Jason Ellis, Dr Don Posner, and Dr Michael Perlis, and received one-to-one supervision from Dr Liz Halstead.
I firmly believe that everyone deserves a restful night's sleep, and I am committed to helping individuals achieve the quality sleep they need to feel their best. Learn more about CBT-I and my approach here.
